About Us!

We are a driving school delivering lessons to a wide range of pupils in South West Scotland, Cumbria, Lancaster and Northumbria. Our training methods are low stress, customer centred and above all, enjoyable. Student drivers of all ability levels from total beginners to passing an advanced driving test, benefit from taking their driving lessons with us.

The company was started in 2005 by Ian Lavell following many successful years teaching for other driving schools. The registered address for the company is 31 Hardthorn Rd, Dumfries, Dumfriesshire DG2 9JJ.

We are also an ORDIT registered training company allowing us to offer driving instructor training for all parts of the qualifying examination.

Whether you’re a complete beginner looking to start lessons, a driver looking to improve your existing skills, (still learning, newly qualified or more experienced), or a qualified driver looking for a new career we can help. Contact your local instructor for a chat or to ask any questions you have – we love questions and we can’t wait to help with your “driving ambitions.”

I come to the industry after driving HGVs for over 30 years.

During my ADI training, a "wise man" once told me "be yourself, teach what you do". That has become my moto - and it works.
